WOW: Hank Phillippi Ryan

I have a great review of a great book that I was going to share for today’s Women on Wednesday, but then this mail hit my inbox and I HAD to share it.

Here’s what her e-mail said:

AIR TIME is nominated for the AGATHA for Best Mystery of 2009! One of the most prestigious honors bestowed on a mystery writer, the Agatha Awards celebrate the traditional mystery—books best typified by the works of Agatha Christie. The prize, the fabled ceramic teapot, will be awarded at the Malice Domestic Conference in Washington, DC in May.

I hear Malice is a lot of fun, and more reader oriented, too. I wish I could go! DC’s not that far from West of Mars.

We’re not done, though. A short story Hank wrote is also up for an Agatha for the best short story of 2009, too.

See? You guys think I’m all fan girl over just another author. Hank is anything but. I’ve been telling you that for MONTHS now.

Anyone else writing about women authors or books penned by women? Come join Women on Wednesday and let’s give our gender some extra props. If you need more information about WOW, click on the tab at the top of the page (which means you feed reader folks need to click through. But I bet you knew that…).

WoW: Christie Craig

Women on Wednesday is back with some author news today.

Christie Craig has just reported that her latest release, Divorced, Desperate, and Deceived, has gone back for a second printing. Mazel Tov to Christie!

Don’t wait for the third printing to see what you’re missing out on, either. Visit her at Killer Fiction, where there’s something wrong with you if you don’t laugh.

Congratulations to Leah Braemel!

I woke up this morning to the news that my good friend Leah Braemel’s book, Private Property, was #97 on the Kindle best-seller list.

Pretty darn awesome.

If you haven’t checked out Leah’s books, I believe you have to do it digitally. It’s worth it, though. Or… what I’ve read so far is. (Yup, I’m behind in my digital books as well as print!)

HUGE news!

Now, THIS is the cool sort of thing I wanted to form Rocks ‘n Reads to be able to blabber about.

Two of the coolest ladies (both of whom stop by the Meet and Greet from time to time) have teamed up to create a new fictional woman: Ellen Connor.

Ellen is really Ann Aguirre and Carrie Lofty.

And Ellen has sold her three-book apocalyptic paranormal “Dark Age Dawning” trilogy.

WOO HOO!

More news as it becomes available, although if you click on Carrie’s name, that’ll take you to her blog post about the sale and about Ellen Connor and all that fun stuff.

I’d sure love a review copy, ladies… and, of course, any promo you’d like thrown up at Win a Book… well, that’s a no-brainer. No review copy necessary for THAT.
